This butterfly was sitting on a fence yesterday morning. I got really up close but she didn’t even move.
The title of this post comes from a conversation I had yesterday with @jishiha, after watching his quick demo of Scratch programming language.
Reminded me of the documentary film Waiting for Superman I watched a few months ago on a plane. The public educational system today is not perfectly optimized for what’s currently available and what works the best. As a whole we should be able to do better than this by now, but that’s not the case in reality. I liked @jishiha’s attitude on the problem though, doing what you can do at home, spreading the word one step at a time.
Scratch Day 2011 is on May 21st and there are 100 events across 34 countries planned!
Did you hear about Tony Buzan? (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tony_Buzan).
He knows how we learn…
Yeah several of my friends regularly draw mind maps. It’s another interesting concept that could be taught in school!
I love how the butterfly colors match the colors of the supports/gutters in the background!
Thank you! This indeed was a magical shot, I couldn’t believe how close I could get to the butterfly!
